From a warlock's curse, to the first documented haunting in Michigan... these are 10 of the state's CREEPIEST, most HAUNTED cemeteries that you can visit!

1. Dice Road Cemetery: Saginaw County, Michigan

The hauntings of Dice Road Cemetery were the first documented paranormal experiences in Michigan. This is by far the state's most researched, and well-known legend. This article does a great job detailing the legend in-depth, and is a highly recommended read: https://www.review-mag.com/article/urban-legends-the-ghost-of-anna-rhodes-the-haunting-of-dice-road-cemetery

2. Soop Cemetery: Belleville, Michigan

From what we've seen, this is by far the most haunted cemetery in the state of Michigan. Known as "Soop Cemetery," after the Soop family buried within, this old cemetery is nestled along the notoriously haunted Old Denton Road. Locals refer to the road itself as a "portal"... could this be the cause for the cemetery's hauntings? Or could the cemetery's hauntings be the cause for the road's?
The cemetery itself has its host of hauntings, most of which center around the grave of Elizabeth Soop. Elizabeth was a known witch... and when I visited the cemetery last year, I found a cow bone as well as coins and other strange "offerings" in a circle around her grave. A demonologist later told me this was a clear voodoo hoodoo ritual. Whether or not Elizabeth actually was a witch, it is obvious that rituals are done atop her grave, which could fuel the already rampant activity reported there.

3. Oakdale Cemetery: Lapeer, Michigan

Once the Michigan Home for the Feeble Minded and Epileptic, all that remains of this sprawling village and institution is its cemetery... unnamed and unlisted on all maps, both local and online.
Today, the cemetery is hidden in the middle of the woods, and can be admittedly tricky to find. It took four tries for me to find it... it took determination, and the help of some kind locals, to point us in the right direction.
The cemetery truly is secluded, and many headstones are either nameless or damaged, which was devastating to see.

4. Dunn's Tomb: Lake Orion, Michigan

This is one of Michigan's most talked-about legends, and it centers around Dunn's Tomb, hidden in a hillside of Lakeville Cemetery. Supposedly, a teenager trapped in the tomb had such intense paranormal activity happen, that she died while trying to claw her way out. It is now rumored that if you go to the cemetery in a black car and touch the tomb, her apparition will appear.
However, the real horrors of Lakeville Cemetery are in the form of distasteful vandalism and graffiti along the entirety of Dunn's Tomb.
Please remember, when you visit these cemeteries, to treat the property (and spirits) with utmost respect.

5. Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery: Jackson, Michigan

Here at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, "Little Mary's Grave" is one of Michigan's most talked about legends. After Mary was buried at age 8, her mother awoke to a dream of Mary being buried alive. Upon uncovering the casket, they discovered scratch marks on the inside, indicating Mary had attempted to claw her way out. Now, her grave and the surrounding area of the cemetery, is said to be one of the most haunted burial grounds in Michigan.

6. Blood Cemetery: Laingsburg, Michigan

This is one of mid-Michigan's most notorious legends, and it more than lives up to its spooky reputation!
The cemetery is in Laingsburg, just outside of Lansing. The Blood family once owned the land, hence giving the cemetery its name. Legend states that the last surviving Blood member, "Doctor Blood," killed his wife with an axe, then hanged himself on the large tree in the center of the cemetery.
Disembodied voices, footsteps, and strange feelings are all reported at this eerie cemetery to this day.
When the Michigan State University Paranormal Society investigated it in 2018, they asked if the spirits liked all the investigators that flock to this haunted hotspot, and captured a voice say "I don't like" in response.

7. Findlay Cemetery: Ada, Michigan

One of Michigan's most famous legends takes place in the small town of Ada. The dubbed "Ada Witch" supposedly roams its streets, albeit making its presence most known at two haunted "hotspots" in town: Seidman Park and Findlay Cemetery.
Findlay cemetery is said to be where the "Ada Witch" is buried. Clearly, this is not the case... as no such woman depicted in the legend actually existed. Still, this continues to be one of the most talked about "haunted" cemeteries in Michigan. Legend states that at midnight on a full moon, the Ada Witch will appear in the form of a woman in white.

8. Nunica Cemetery: Nunica, Michigan

Known as Michigan's "City of Lost Souls," Nunica Cemetery is one of the creepier legends in the state. A full bodied apparition is often reported in the broad daylight, as are feelings of unease, voices, and strange growls.
YouTube investigation team Lakeshore Paranormal has visited the cemetery several times, capturing compelling evidence and even spotting its infamous apparition.

9. Tyler Cemetery: Belleville, Michigan

Legends abound at this creepy Belleville cemetery. A "lady in white" is said to haunt its grounds... and even follow your car out of the cemetery if you dare disturb her!
Between this cemetery and the above mentioned Soop Cemetery, Belleville is one spooky small town!

10. The Warlock's Grave: Dexter, Michigan

The abandoned, long-overgrown Old Scio Cemetery is infamous for its "Warlock Willie" legend. Supposedly, if you lie in the Warlock's grave, his spirit will pass through you, and you will both see, hear, and feel his evil presence.
Much like the above mentioned Oakdale Cemetery, this one can be a bit tricky to find, but only because it is literally overgrown in the middle of the woods. I found it in one try, but admittedly had talked to many locals beforehand who readily shared their terrifying experiences, as well as directions, with me.
While there, I recorded my most impressive EMF evidence to date: it spiked and stopped on command, for the longest I've ever seen.
